Sacred Goddess Sites in Sicily – review
Sacred Goddess Sites in Sicily is a booklet recording a personal pilgrimage by Tiziana Stupia. Filled with colour images of Goddess Sites in Sicily, Tiziana shares her experiences of visiting sacred sites in this short, well crafted piece. I had no idea that Sicily was such a centre of Goddess worship – with temples and myths featuring Ceres (Demeter), Proserpina (Persephone), Artemis and Athena as well as the Catholic Madonna/Mother Goddess figure. Sprinkled with prayers and snippets of classical writing, this is a booklet that will certain wet your appetite for Sicilian Goddess worship. If you like your reading material seriously academic and referenced, this might prove a little on the light side, but it does give some very interesting pointers for further exploration.
Personal, insightful and poetic, this is a read that will inspire anyone drawn to classical Goddesses. If you are considering visiting Sicily, I think it’s a must have.
The booklet is available for £3.50 plus £1 post and package from Sacred Ceremonies, Suite 284, Ortygia House, 99 Warwick Street, Leamington Spa, CV32 4RB.
